Angie McMahon / Announces UK Live Debut With London Headline Show
Australia’s Angie McMahon will make her UK live debut with a headline show at The Slaughtered Lamb in London on Friday 29th June. Tickets are on-sale now, from here.
The announcement of this one-off show follows Angie’s recently released single, ‘Missing Me’, which showcases her talent for writing seriously hook-laden indie songs delivered with powerful vocals that cover the full dynamic spectrum, shifting between gravelly intimacy and pounding rock.
Angie McMahon released her first single ‘Slow Mover’ at the close of 2017 to an outpouring of support from fans and industry alike, all of whom have found themselves relating to Angie’s effortless way with words. ‘Slow Mover’ peaked at no.2 on Spotify’s Viral Chart on release and received instant heavy rotation from Australia’s new music champion triple j radio where it ended up making their Hottest 100 chart of the year, no mean feat for a debut release. The track has since clocked up well over 2 million streams on Spotify alone and has set the bar high for things to come from Angie.
Both ‘Slow Mover’ and ‘Missing Me’ will feature on Angie’s upcoming debut album which she is currently busy co-producing with Alex O’Gorman.
On the live front, at home, Angie has supported the likes of Father John Misty, Meg Mac, The Shins, and will embark on a month-long Australia-wide tour with Angus & Julia Stone throughout May. She’s become a regular fixture on the Australian festival circuit and with a run of sold-out headline shows already under her belt this year, she’s just announced details of her biggest shows to date, both of which will take place in July - The Corner Hotel (Melbourne) and Oxford Art Factory (Sydney).
Today’s announcement of Angie’s first ever UK show marks the start of an exciting next chapter for this promising young artist.
