Written and hosted by Danny Carissimi of the successful 'Sugar High' podcast, the series will dissect the new album in minute detail, looking in particular at the story of the lyrics and the individual song origins. Carissimi and Bear’s Den have a long history, having first met when Danny was the band’s tour manager in their very early days. The bonds built over those long drives squeezed into the back of a van travelling across the world leads to a rich and deeply compelling insight into the band as people and their creative processes.

Speaking about the project, Danny Carissimi says: “Throughout this whole project, my driving thought was always what I'd like to hear as a fan. I'm a big fan of Bears Den but we’re also friends so I know things about their lives and pro- cess that a lot of people do not. I hope that fans enjoy the journey and learn about how much goes into making a Bear’s Den record. I want listeners to feel like they're hanging out with Kev and Davie at their studio in London. They're going to learn more about the band here than they will anywhere else and I think it will really increase their enjoyment of this new album.”

Episode number one of the ‘So that you might hear me’ podcast will drop next week. Listen to the trailer and subscribe to the series here.

Alongside news of this podcast, Bear’s Den have also today unveiled an official lyric video for ‘Blankets of Sorrow’, which, together with ‘Fuel on the Fire’, is one of the two initial tracks released from ‘So that you might hear me’. The video may first appear to be animation but on closer inspection reveals itself to be words formed from frozen ink filmed in real time as they melt, the ice turning to water symbolic of the fleeting nature of words that are here then gone but leave a lasting impression in our minds.

Bear’s Den were nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for “Best Song Musically and Lyrically” for ‘Above The Clouds of Pompeii’ on the band’s debut album and this focus on lyrics continues to form an integral part of ‘So that you might hear me’.
