Bear’s Den have released a fly-on-the-wall documentary of their recent, stripped back and intimate tour of the Scottish Highlands & Highlands. In the Summer of 2019, the band decided to return to the scene of one of their first ever tours and one of the inspirations for the creation of their debut album, Islands.

The tour, marking 5 years since their original visit to the region, visited Orkney, Inverness, the Isle of Lewis, Aviemore, Bachory and Dunkeld. Just as the original tour proved pivotal for the band’s early development, this new film documents how the band  continue to be influenced and inspired by Scotland.

Entitled 'As The Crow Flies: A Return To The Highlands & Islands', the documentary was filmed by Michael Holyk, who has worked with the likes of Tom Walker, Rag’n’Bone Man, Jake Bugg and more, and combines live concert footage, impromptu acoustic performances and disarming on the road conversation with the band and their fans, providing a never seen before glimpse of life on the road with the band, their relationship with each other  and their fans.

2019 saw Bear’s Den release their 3rd studio album, ‘So that you might hear me’ in March and a Winter EP ‘Only Son of the Falling Snow’ in December. Their podcast series with presenter Danny Carissimi took a deep dive into the background of the album’s poignant influences and the band performed an extensive run of headline touring across the UK, mainland Europe, and North America.

Next up, Bear’s Den return for a one-off homecoming show at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on 20th Feb. Final tickets for the show are on-sale now from the band’s official website.
