Mt. Joy / Surprise Release New Single 'Acrobats'
Mt. Joy have surprise released another new single from their forthcoming second album ‘Rearrange Us’. Available to stream on all platforms as of now, new single ‘Acrobats’ is a rootsy, krautrock-inflected number. It’s a curveball from the very beginning: As the tension of the intro washes away, the band’s frontman Matt Quinn provides instructions familiar to anyone prone to panic attacks - “Realize your surroundings / Count five things in the room” - before it erupts back into a switch-blade rhythm and cascading piano lines.

Speaking about the emotive subject matter behind this one, Quinn himself shares: “'Acrobats' is a song about walking yourself back from the ledge during a panic attack. We didn’t intend it to be apropos of any particular moment, but we hope it gives you power to roll with the punches.”
Mt. Joy announced news of their second album with the release of a double a-side single, ‘Strangers’ and ‘Let Loose’. ‘Strangers’ has already racked up close to two million streams on Spotify alone and was also the track that the band chose to perform when appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers earlier this month.
