Novo Amor / Announces Headline Tour Dates + New Track 'State Lines'
Novo Amor has today unveiled a surprise new track, ‘State Lines’ which is out now on AllPoints. The project of producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Ali Lacey, this is the first solo material we have heard from Novo Amor following his collaboration with Ed Tullett, which culminated in the release of the ‘Heiress’ album at the close of 2017.
‘State Lines’ is the result of Lacey getting back to his home studio in Wales. The track grows from humble beginnings of acoustic guitar and Novo Amor’s now familiar falsetto vocals, and blossoms into an expansive and cinematic cut.
Speaking about the new track, Lacey has shared: "The name ‘State Lines’ represents the idea of bordering something, it reflects a feeling or place of uncertainty”
Alongside today’s new single, a Novo Amor headline tour has been announced for October 2018. Kicking off in Manchester, the UK leg of the tour will visit Glasgow, Leeds, Brighton, and London for a night at the majestic Union Chapel, before travelling on to mainland Europe for 7 additional headline shows. With Lacey working from his home studio in Wales, surrounded by peace and tranquility, Novo Amor has received acclaim for a catalogue of beautiful and melancholic songs which have the ability to effortlessly transport the listener to another realm.
Released in 2014, Novo Amor’s seminal EP, ‘Woodgate, NY’, was followed up by the much praised ‘Bathing Beach’ EP in 2017. Alongside all of this, Lacey was working with Ed Tullett on the collaborative album ‘Heiress’. Released in 2017 it was the product of nearly 4 years work between the pair, a collection of songs both meticulously calculated and deeply felt; sprawling, ambitious and strikingly deep.
Having established himself as a prolific producer, Lacey is set to follow ‘State Lines’ with more brand new material, all to be announced.
