Swimming Tapes / Share New Single 'What's On Your Mind'
Following the announcement of their second EP ‘Soft Sea Blue’ - released 15th September via Hand In Hive / B3SCI - Swimming Tapes have unveiled a brand new single in the form of ‘What’s On Your Mind’. The new track arrives hot on the heels of the video for another EP track, ‘Queen’s Parade’, which is available to watch on YouTube here.
Produced by Adam Jaffrey (Gengahr, Palace, Leif Erikson), the four sun drenched tracks of ‘Soft Sea Blue’ combine to form a haze of summer sound that transports the listener to sunny climes. Swimming Tapes arrived in 2016 with a self released demo track, ‘Souvenirs’, which quickly won them acclaim from the blogging world. Follow up tracks ‘Set The Fire’ and ‘Cameos’ saw them reach the top spot on the Hype Machine chart, earned the band their first play from BBC Radio 1, and tipped them well over 2 million track streams on Spotify, firmly cementing the quintet as ones to watch for 2017 and the band have more than delivered.
So far this year, ’Queen’s Parade’ has picked up multiple plays across Radio 1 (Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart, and as Annie Mac’s New Name for June), Beats1, KCRW & Virgin Radio, whilst on the live front they’ve sold out their first ever London headline show, played an official showcase in front of a packed out crowd at The Great Escape, and played Dot To Dot.
Marking the EP’s release in September, Swimming Tapes will return to London to headline The Lexington on 20th September with more dates to be announced. Tickets for the London show are on sale now here.
‘Soft Sea Blue’ will be available digitally and on very limited edition 12” vinyl. Pre-order the EP here.
